Paris: The French Minister of Health announced that more than 2,000 people in the country died over a one-week period due to a severe heatwave. 

According to international news agencies, the French minister stated that the death toll from the heatwave stands at 2,025, with the possibility that this figure could rise further. 

He also noted that the mortality rate was higher among people over the age of 12. 

According to news agencies, at least 3,700 people died last week in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands due to the heat; Belgium recorded 1,200 deaths, while 480 deaths were reported in the Netherlands amidst record temperatures and the heatwave.
