Despite rising temperatures, many people still prefer to take a lukewarm shower.

However, according to NDTV, there are more benefits to taking a cold bath. Taking a cold bath in summer not only provides relief from the heat but also offers several health benefits.

A cold bath is also called cold water therapy.

1: Improved blood flow

Cold water helps constrict your arteries, which improves blood flow. When your body warms up later, your blood vessels dilate, which promotes better blood flow and more oxygen throughout your body.

2: Boosts immunity

Regular cold showers increase the production of white blood cells, which help your immune system fight infections and diseases. This in turn strengthens your body's natural defenses and protects you from illness.

3: Improved energy levels

Cold showers stimulate the body and mind, which increases energy. It also keeps your mood upbeat.

Warm water removes the skin's natural oils, which can potentially lead to dryness and inflammation. On the other hand, cold water can be beneficial for your skin, as it tightens it and reduces the risk of acne.

5: Reduce Inflammation

Chronic inflammation can be harmful and put you at risk for chronic diseases. Cold water has an anti-inflammatory effect that helps control pain and also relieves soreness after exercise.
