Iraq has threatened to leave OPEC, the organization of major oil-producing countries, after a proposal to increase oil production was rejected.

Iraq has proposed to increase oil exports to compensate for losses caused by the war.

However, Iraq has threatened to leave OPEC after a proposal to increase oil production was rejected.

The Iraqi news agency, citing sources, said that any decision to increase oil production or withdraw from OPEC would be made after the Iraqi prime minister's visit to Washington next month.

Experts say that the withdrawal of Iraq, the world's second-largest oil producer, from OPEC would be a bigger blow than the sudden withdrawal of the United Arab Emirates.

It should be remembered that the United Arab Emirates announced its separation from OPEC and OPEC+, the organization of major oil-producing countries, in April.
