Uae Project Inaugurated To Provide Drinking Water To Millions Of Gaza Residents

A delegation from the United Arab Emirates inaugurated a major pipeline project in the Gaza Strip on Friday.


It will bring clean drinking water from the Emirates' desalination plants in Egypt to Gaza. The project is being described as a major relief for thousands of families suffering from severe water shortages.


According to the official UAE news agency, WAM, the opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the operation's support committee, the Municipal Water Authority, senior officials and others.


Following the opening, water began to reach the people of southern Gaza.

The pipeline will provide 2 million liters of clean drinking water per day, benefiting 1 million people in Gaza.


It is connected to the 'Al-Baraq Water Reservoir' in Khan Yunis, which has a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters. This will enable the provision of drinking water to more areas.


This project is a continuation of the efforts made by the UAE in Gaza so far.


Including the construction of 6 desalination plants, the provision of tankers and the maintenance of wells. The drinking water project is intended for the residents of Gaza and displaced people.


Previously, the UAE also continued its airlift operations to support the besieged Palestinians in Gaza. Through which basic food products are provided to the citizens of Gaza.
