Japan's stance on not recognizing Palestine is similar to that of the US and Israel: Japanese newspaper report/photo |
A Japanese newspaper has claimed that Japan will not immediately recognize a Palestinian state for the time being.
A Japanese newspaper report, citing government sources, claims that Japan will not recognize a Palestinian state for the time being.
According to the claim made in the report, the Japanese prime minister will not attend the UN meeting on Palestine, and Japan's stance on non-recognition of Palestine is close to that of the United States and Israel.
It should be noted that several countries, including France, Britain, Canada, Luxembourg, Belgium and Australia, have said they intend to recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly.
But Japan has either forgotten Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, or fears another similar attack and therefore does not want to anger the United States.
