Kuwait's Interior Ministry has arrested several individuals and uncovered a fraud ring.
These individuals were involved in issuing fake work permits to Egyptian citizens.
According to Al-Arabiya Net, an official at the Public Authority for Manpower, who served as interim director, provided an agent with valid and original government documents that were later used for forgery.
A bribe of 130 to 250 Kuwaiti dinars was charged for each fraudulent application.
The investigation also revealed that the agent gave these documents to a person working on a printing press, who altered them and re-uploaded them through a government program called “Sahul.” In return, he was paid 5 dinars per box.
According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, all the arrested and others admitted to illegally recruiting workers through the agent in exchange for bribes.
Work permits were issued by these fraudsters to several companies, whose data is being collected and an investigation is underway in this regard.
The Ministry of Interior has taken legal action against all the accused and handed them over to the Public Prosecution Service.
The authorities say they are determined to bring all elements involved in this network to justice and that actions that harm the state system and the dignity of the country will not be tolerated.
