France has banned extremist Israeli national security minister Atmar Ben-Gwer from entering French territory.

Announcing the decision, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrow said the move reflected growing global outrage over the treatment of members of the Gaza flotilla.

The French foreign minister wrote on social media platform X that "Atmar Ben-Gwer is banned from entering French territory as of today."

He added that, together with his Italian counterpart, he is also calling on the European Union to impose sanctions on Atmar Ben Gweir.

According to a foreign news agency, there was a strong reaction from Western governments when Ben Gweir released a video in which he mocked the workers of the flotilla heading to Gaza, and later some workers claimed that they were physically tortured during their detention.
