Washington: The US has indefinitely suspended all immigration applications for Afghan citizens.

According to US media, the Trump administration has immediately suspended immigration applications from Afghan citizens after an Afghan national shot and killed two National Guard members in Washington.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services said on the social media page X that all immigration applications for Afghan citizens have been suspended indefinitely.

The US immigration agency says it will further review security and screening protocols for immigration applications from Afghan citizens.

It should be noted that two members of the National Guard were shot near the White House in the US capital, Washington, on November 26 and their condition is currently considered critical.

According to US authorities, a suspect, identified as 29-year-old Afghan Rahmanullah Lucknowal, has been arrested.
