Khartoum: The Sudanese rebel army's Rapid Support Force attacked the town of Al-Fasher and captured the entire town, killing 2,000 people in the attack.

According to foreign media reports, the rebel army's Rapid Support Force (RSF) attacked and captured the city of Al-Fasher, considered a stronghold of the Sudanese army, on October 26.

According to the Sudanese government, at least 2,000 people have been killed in the city so far, while aid organizations have provided verified reports of civilian killings, attacks during the escape, house robberies and mass executions.

After capturing Al Fasher, the RSF gained almost complete control over a large area of Darfur.

Following this, fears grew that Sudan could once again be on the brink of secession, as happened when South Sudan seceded a decade ago.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Turkey and Jordan have strongly condemned the serious human rights violations and massacres committed by the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary forces during the occupation of the city of Al-Fasher in Sudan.

It should be noted that fighting in Sudan between the Sudanese army and the renegade RSF military force has been ongoing since April 2023, in which thousands of people have been killed so far.
