Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the fifth match of the T20 tournament of the 2025 Asia Cup.
In the match played in Abu Dhabi, Sri Lanka won the toss against Bangladesh and elected to field.
Bangladesh's batting line-up looked in trouble from the start, with both openers Tanzeed Hasan and Parvez Hossain being dismissed for no runs.
Captain Liton Das was dismissed for 28 runs, Mehidy Hasan scored 9 and Tohid Hardoy scored 8 runs.
Zakir Ali and Shamim Hossain supported the team in difficult times, taking the team's score to 139 runs with a brilliant partnership of 86 runs.
Both scored 41 and 42 runs respectively. Bangladesh managed to score 139 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Sri Lanka reached the target of 140 runs in just 14.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.
Nissanka was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with 50 runs, while Kamil Mishara remained unbeaten on 46 runs.
