Iran has seized a foreign oil tanker suspected of carrying smuggled fuel.
According to Iranian state media, the tanker, which was seized in the Persian Gulf, was carrying four million liters of smuggled fuel.
The report said 16 crew members were detained after the oil tanker was seized. Authorities did not release the identities of the crew members or the tanker.
Iranian authorities also reported that they seized a foreign tanker in the Gulf of Oman last week, which they said was carrying 6 million liters of smuggled oil.
The identity of this ship has not been disclosed.
