Kiev: At least 6 people were killed and dozens more injured in dozens of Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and residential buildings.
Ukrainian officials say two people were killed and 12 injured in a Russian attack on a residential building in the city of Dnipro, while three people were killed in Zaporizhzhia.
The report said Russia targeted 25 locations across Ukraine, including the capital, Kiev.
The Ukrainian prime minister said that important power installations in the Kharkiv and Kyiv regions were damaged and that power supply was cut off in many areas after the attacks, but that repairs were underway.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched more than 450 drones and 45 missiles overnight, of which 9 missiles and 406 drones were destroyed.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that its forces shot down 79 Ukrainian drones.
The Ukrainian Energy Ministry said that power supplies had been cut off in several areas, including Dnipro.
Russian officials claim that the attacks on energy facilities are being carried out to weaken Ukraine's military capabilities.
According to the report, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that there should be no easing of Western sanctions against Russia in the energy sector after these attacks.
