According to the United Nations, Israeli forces and Jewish settlers killed more than a thousand Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in 2 years, including 233 children.
During a press conference in Geneva, the spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, said that Israeli forces and settlers have killed 1,030 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023, including 233 children.
He said he was shocked by the public killing of two Palestinians by Israeli border police in Jenin on Thursday.
The spokesman said impunity for the unlawful use of force by the Israeli military and the escalation of violence by Israeli settlers must end, and that independent, prompt and effective investigations into the killings of Palestinians must be carried out.
According to a report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), violence continues unabated in the occupied West Bank, with casualties, material damage and displacement occurring every day.
According to the report, more than 1,600 attacks by Israeli settlers have resulted in serious casualties and material damage to Palestinians since the beginning of this year.
The number of Palestinians injured in these attacks is over 1,000, most of whom were affected by physical violence, stone-throwing or tear gas.
The report said that about 700 Palestinians were directly injured by Israeli settlers, while the rest were injured by Israeli forces. This number of 700 is almost double the number of Palestinians injured in settler attacks in 2024.
