In the first One Day International, England was all out for 131 runs, South Africa win by seven wickets

Except for opener Jamie Smith, who scored 54 runs, no other English player made a significant contribution. 

The match took place in Leeds, where South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first, a decision that proved to be the correct one. 

England's entire team was dismissed for a total of 131 runs. Jos Buttler was out for 15, Joe Root for 14, and captain Harry Brook for 12. 

Adil Rashid was out on nine, Will Jacks on seven, Ben Duckett on five, and Jacob Bethell on one. 

Jofra Archer and Sonny Baker were dismissed without scoring any runs, while Brydon Carse managed three runs without being out. 

For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj took four wickets, Wayne Mulder three, and Nandre Burger and Langi Ngedi each claimed one wicket. 

South Africa reached their target of 132 runs comfortably in the 21st over, losing only three wickets. Aiden Markram scored an aggressive 86 runs off 55 balls, while captain Timba Bavuma was dismissed for six runs and Tristan Stubbs for zero. 

Ryan Rickleton remained not out on 31 runs. 

Adil Rashid also took all three wickets for England.
